Profit today, after everything
Revenue minus contribution costs minus ad spend. The figure that decides whether today went well, not the one that sounds best.
Money Today
“Am I making money right now?”
Every platform reports the part of the picture that flatters it. Shopify shows revenue. Meta shows ROAS. Stripe shows payouts. None of them subtracts the cost of the goods you shipped, the refunds you processed, or the fees you paid — so none of them can tell you whether today was profitable. Money Today does that arithmetic and puts the answer at the top of one screen.
Revenue minus contribution costs minus ad spend. The figure that decides whether today went well, not the one that sounds best.
From Shopify and Stripe on one side, Meta and Google on the other, so the gap between what came in and what it cost is a glance rather than a spreadsheet.
What is actually in the account, and how long it lasts at the current burn. Labelled as an estimate, because until bank feeds land it is one.
The split that tells you whether today's revenue is growth or the same people buying again — two very different businesses.
Orders arrive as they happen
Webhooks from Shopify and Stripe, not a nightly export. An order placed two minutes ago is already in the number.
Costs are subtracted per order
Product cost where the platform reports it, your blended contribution margin where it does not. Refunds reduce the order they belong to rather than appearing as a mystery adjustment.
Ad spend is pulled the same day
Meta and Google spend for the same window, so profit is revenue minus what you actually paid to get it, not minus yesterday's number.
Because Shopify reports revenue. We subtract the cost of the goods, refunds, payment fees and the advertising it took to make the sale. The gap between those two numbers is the reason this product exists.
Orders arrive by webhook within seconds. Ad spend follows the platforms' own reporting cadence, which is typically a few hours behind.
No. It is contribution profit — what is left after everything that scales with an order. It excludes salaries, rent and other fixed costs, because those do not change when you spend more on ads.
